The skeletal remains were discovered by聽a landscape worker.

Officers were called to the 12200 block of Green Meadow Drive around 3:15 p.m. Friday afternoon聽and confirmed the remains were human.

The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.

No additional information, including the identity of the deceased, or how long the remains have been there, are known at this time, according to Howard County police.

The North Beach Volunteer Fire Department announced the death of Rescue Captain Patricia “Pat” Osburn.

Osburn experienced what’s being called “a medical emergency” while performing her duties as an Emergency Medical Technician. She was transported to the Calvert Health Medical Center where she was unresponsive. Resuscitative efforts were initiated but Osburn was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m.

No further details were released as to the cause of death.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan paid tribute to Captain Osburn on Twitter.

Osburn joined the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department on Oct. 31, 1999 and served 18 years with the department, according to the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Osburn’s dedication to the department earned her many awards including Top EMS Runner for several years as well as numerous recognitions for saving lives.

Police chief Peter 太子探花ham said officers were responding to a report of a robbery in progress in the 600 block of 7th Street NW around 1:30 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a victim in the roadway suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was taken a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

太子探花ham said detectives with the homicide branch spoke with a person of interest in the case.

Police are not releasing the victim’s identity until they identify the next of kin.

At around 1:40 p.m., officers from Montgomery County police, along with fire and rescue personnel, responded to Montrose Parkway in the area of East Jefferson Street in Rockville, Maryland, where a Toyota Highlander had left the roadway and crashed into a light pole.

The driver and six passengers were transported to local hospitals.

The front seat passenger, Rose Priscilla Ivy, age 79, of Durham, North Carolina, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.聽 She died from her injuries at the hospital last night.

The driver, Bartilyn Seneh, age 30, of Appleton Place in Frederick, was transported to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

A 33-year-old female passenger was transported to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The four remaining passengers, two, three-year old females, a 10-year-old female, and a 13-year-old female, were all transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at聽240-773-6620.

The cost to keep open the 234-mile, 91-station Metrorail system for an additional hour is $100,000 and is being funded by Uber, Metro told WTOP.

鈥淧lanes, trains, and automobiles 鈥� it鈥檚 going to take it all to get the Caps a win on Monday and then back to Tampa to close out the series,鈥� said Mayor Muriel Bowser in a prepared statement. 鈥淭he more fans we have out the better, and the more transportation options the better. Thank you, Uber, for helping move our city and this series forward.鈥�

鈥淢etro is the backbone of the region’s transportation system, and everybody wins when people have alternatives to driving themselves to and from events downtown,” said Michael Black, Uber’s General Manager for D.C. in a news release. “We’re honored to work with Mayor Bowser and WMATA to help make sure that Caps fans can use Metro to get home safely from Monday鈥檚 game and leave their cars at home.”

It happened at around聽1:45 p.m. on Montrose Parkway.

One woman was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Four of those involved in the crash are children. Their injuries are not thought to be serious, according to聽a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman.

Update: Toddler Safe After Shooting Scare in Southeast DC. Latest at 11.

It happened in a residential neighborhood in the 1100 block of K Street Southeast on Sunday, Mother’s Day, around 4 p.m.

D.C. police said the child was initially believed to have been shot, but they found that the boy had not been hurt by gunshot.

The toddler’s life is not at risk, but information on the child’s injury has not been released. Police are still investigating the incident.

Ean Lanell Davis-Lattimore was arrested by Frederick police shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday and charged as an adult with murder, attempted murder and assault.

The dead woman was identified by police as Genesis Marie McCarter-Berretto of Gaithersburg.

The male victim will not be identified due to his age.

Police have said the shooting apparently was the result of a fight that broke out at a party.

It happened at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of Weybridge Road in Frederick.

Frederick police say they found聽McCarter-Berretto fatally wounded and a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound in his lower leg.

The male victim was transported to a trauma center with non life-threatening injuries.

The answer might surprise you, according to the annual rankings of the a nonprofit organization that puts more than 5,000 products through a series of tests every year.

finds there are surprises when it comes to the levels of protection advertised and reality. It’s a pattern the organization has seen in previous tests, as well.

The report rates ranging from lotions to sticks and sprays. Dermatologists recommend using products with SPF of 30 or higher.

The ratings are based on a number of factors: The UVA protection, UVB (SPF) protection and variation from SPF. The variation from SPF rating is a measure of how closely a sunscreen’s tested UVB (SPF) protection matched the SPF advertised on the label.

If a sunscreen contained 85 percent or above the labeled SPF it earned an excellent rating, between 70 and 84 percent, a very good rating, between 60 and 69 percent, a good rating, 50 to 59 percent, a fair rating and below 50 percent, a poor rating.

Twenty four sunscreens were found to have less than half their labeled SPF number, meaning consumers aren’t getting the degree of protection they expect.

Lowest performing sunscreens

The lowest performing lotion, according to Consumer Reports, was Babyganics mineral-based lotion SPF 50+. It earned a fair rating for UVA protection and a poor rating for both its UVB protection and its variation from the SPF advertised on the label. Its overall rating was 22 on a scale of 100.

The lowest performing spray was the UV Aero Continuous Spray SPF 45 by EltaMD. It was rated poor for its UVA protection, good for its UVB (SPF) protection and poor for its variation from the SPF advertised on the label. Its overall score was 27.

Highest performing sunscreens

Scooping the top spot, with a score of 100, was La-Roche Posay’s Anthelios 60 Melt-in Sunscreen Milk achieving a rating of excellent from Consumer Reports across the board. It costs $36.

One point below at 99 was Walmart’s Equate Sport Lotion SPF 50. It is priced at $5.

The highest performing spray, with an overall score of 100, was Trader Joe’s Spray SPF 50+. It achieved an excellent rating in all tests. It costs $6.

The report also noted that some claims on sunscreen bottles are not regulated by the FDA. Terms that are not include: “Sport” 鈥� “dermatologist recommended” 鈥� “natural” and “mineral.”

To access the sunscreen report consumers need to sign up for a basic free membership.

Well, thirst-quenching help, on a sticky summer’s day, is easier to come by than you might think, according to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

It’s encouraging people to use聽, an app and website, that shows you where you can fill up a bottle with tap water, free of charge.

can be found across D.C., Virginia and Maryland. May of them are local businesses. To use the service you can go online and find your nearest water stop or . Once at your refill location, take in a reusable water bottle to fill up, either staff will do that for you, or you can access a water filling point, depending on the business. No purchase is necessary.

The idea started in New York about nine years ago, but its founder abandoned efforts to maintain the listings. In 2014, D.C.-area officials took it over with the idea that they could serve this region.

Officials believe in the past downloading the app has been a barrier to reaching a wider audience.

鈥淧eople will often download the app and not keep it because they run out of space on their phone or they go a whole season without using it,鈥� said Heidi Bonnaffon, an environmental planner with the COG. 鈥淪o, we鈥檇 like to make the website something people can bookmark and go back to whenever they need it.鈥�

The app has been updated and includes a refined search function to help plan refills based on neighborhood, address and site. Users can share the location where they’ve topped up on social media.

Hundreds of outlets have signed up to offer the free service this year, including some museums.

鈥淲e鈥檙e trying to expand it to other venues that will make it useful for people who might not always be near a store or restaurant,鈥� Bonnaffon said.

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments hopes TapIt will also help cut down on plastic water-bottle waste.

The victim, who’s been identified as 17-year-old Damoni Gaither of Southeast D.C., was found with gunshot wounds in the 300 block of聽Anacostia Road Southeast, police said.

Officers responded to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. after hearing the sounds of gunshots. Gaither was pronounced dead at the scene.

D.C. police are also investigating another shooting that happened in a separate location Wednesday afternoon in Southeast D.C.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds in the 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast.

They were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not said if the shootings are connected.

When the guests arrive at the hotel, they will be greeted by two men dressed as the Queen鈥檚 Guards and escorted to their suite.

A butler, who will be on hand around the clock, will then present a high afternoon tea, which will include Champagne and caviar.

All three sets of skeletal remains are female, said LaShon Beamon, communications director for the Office of the Medical Examiner.

The first remains were found Wednesday in a crawl space on the 100 block of Wayne Place, Southeast D.C. at an apartment building’s construction site. The second set of remains was found outside nearby.

Workers performing construction on an apartment building discovered the first set of skeletal remains. They contacted police, who responded to the scene. The remains were then聽transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination, who on Friday confirmed the remains were human.

On Saturday, after the two additional sets of skeletal remains were discovered, the Chief Medical Examiner determined they were both human as well.
