WASHINGTON 鈥� A man died after he was shot in Alexandria, Virginia, Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Montgomery Street around 12:30 p.m. When police responded, they found a man suffering from trauma to his upper body.
Emergency crews transported the man — identified as 28-year-old Pierre Clark — to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police said there is no reason to believe the suspect is still in the area. A suspect description has not been released.
As a precaution, Alexandria City Schools went on 鈥渓ock-in status,鈥� but it was lifted about an hour later.
The homicide is Alexandria’s third for the year.
