Md. man’s Facebook boast leads to his arrest

WASHINGTON 鈥 Crashing a party is a jerk move; bragging about it on social media only makes it worse. But a Maryland man got some fast聽payback last week.

Sean Kovalick Jr. posted on Facebook last Friday night that he had crashed a party in Glen Burnie, Maryland, . He wrote that he was at a party at Michael鈥檚 8th聽Avenue, and added, 鈥淒on鈥檛 know anybody here or why they are even here but the beer and food is free lol hopefully nobody asks me why I鈥檓 here.鈥

In response to a comment, Kovalick said that he thought he was at a politician鈥檚 fundraiser. He wasn鈥檛.

The next day, Anne Arundel County Sheriff Ron Bateman replied to Kovalick, saying that the event was in fact a fundraiser for him 鈥渢hat you stole from.鈥 He added, 鈥淭hat was a bad play for you鈥 and said he would 鈥渟top by your house in the next day or two.鈥

That worked out even worse than it seems 鈥 it turned out there was a warrant for Kovalick鈥檚 arrest, for having failed to show up for traffic court last month, Fox5 reports.

Kovalick agreed to meet with Bateman, and was indeed arrested. The sheriff鈥檚 office tells Fox5 that Kovalick told Bateman that he had no excuse for his behavior.
