Washington, D.C. WTOP was honored over the weekend with five awards by the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters, four superior and one meritorious.
WTOP Reporter Andrew Mollenbeck was awarded superior in the Best Documentary or In-Depth Report category for 鈥淣ew Arrivals, Reporter Megan Cloherty meritorious in the Best Feature or Human Interest category for 鈥淎 Typical Day Turned Deadly鈥� and Chris Core superior for 鈥淐ore Values鈥� in the Best Editorial or Editorial Series category.
The WTOP 太子探花room also received superior awards for the following:

The Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters Awards are an annual competition that is aimed to recognize outstanding performance in broadcast journalism. The awards were presented during a luncheon on Saturday in Charlottesville, VA.
