Street in SE D.C. closed during bomb-squad investigation

WASHINGTON 鈥 A man is in custody and a street in Southeast D.C. was shut down while a bomb squad conducted an investigation early Tuesday.

ABC7 reports that federal, D.C. and Maryland officials were executing a Delaware firearms warrant at a home on First Street SE, near Mississippi Avenue when they discovered a 鈥渟uspicious鈥 device.

The D.C. police bomb squad came to the home and ruled the device doesn鈥檛 pose an immediate threat, and that people are allowed in the area; however, ABC7 says, that doesn鈥檛 mean it wasn鈥檛 dangerous.

A man was taken into custody.
