WASHINGTON —聽It seems things might be a little too fast-paced in the nation’s capital, 聽at least if sweat stains are any indication.
Washington, D.C.,聽has earned the dubious honor聽as the sixth-sweatiest place聽in the country, according to .聽The 聽rankings were compiled by the folks who make Honeywell Fans, with help from scientists at an environmental聽consultant firm.
They combed through data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s National Climatic Data Center and the U.S. Census Bureau to determine which U.S. cities were sweatiest.
The top 10 sweatiest cities are:
1. Tampa, Florida
2. Miami
3. Houston
4. San Diego
5. Orlando,聽Florida
6. Washington, D.C.
7. Raleigh, North Carolina
8. Los Angeles
9. Dallas
10. Charlotte,聽North Carolina
“We looked at a range of environmental factors including average temperature and humidity levels during summer months, population and housing density, and average wind speed, which has an evaporative cooling effect,” Dr. Ted Myatt, of Environmental Health & Engineering, said in a news release.
