Md. man charged after threats, shooting in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON 鈥 An Oxon Hill, Maryland, man faces multiple charges 鈥 including assault with a dangerous weapon and threat to kidnap or injure a person 鈥 after D.C. police say聽he opened fire on a busy street and wounded three people Sunday in Northeast D.C.

Moses Walker, 31, was out for revenge when he made threats and shot at people in the 500 block of M Street Northeast after 9:30 a.m. Sunday, said Assistant D.C. Police Chief Peter 太子探花ham.

“The suspect approached three victims, and began firing at two of the victims while the third victim fled,” 太子探花ham said in a news conference Tuesday. Two of the victims ran into a nearby church and had gunshot wounds聽to their lower bodies, he said.

Walker then chased down the third victim, and beat him in the head, 太子探花ham said.

Multiple witnesses on M Street helped officers find Walker. Detectives believe Walker was reacting in retaliation to a shooting earlier Sunday around 1 a.m. in聽the 900 block of聽Eastern Avenue Northeast, 太子探花ham said.

He would not elaborate on the connection between the two shootings.
