WASHINGTON — A man went into cardiac arrest聽while attempting to help聽an 8-year-old girl after she was聽struck聽by a car in Northeast D.C. Saturday night.
The girl was hit by a car around 8:50 p.m. in the 5300聽block of Chillum Place NE, police said. The man came to help the girl, but went into cardiac arrest.
“We immediately began working to revive him,” said Vito Maggiolo, public information officer with D.C. Fire and EMS.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
The girl聽suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police said she is going to be聽OK.
Police are still investigating.
