WASHINGTON — D.C. police are investigating two deadly shootings in Southeast D.C. on Sunday.
The first shooting happened just before聽1 p.m. at the corner of 7th and L streets Southeast, about a block north of Navy Yard. A聽man and a woman were shot, but the man, later identified as 27-year-old Anthony Young of Southeast D.C., did not survive.
Interim Police Chief Peter 太子探花ham said the incident聽did not appear random. “It appears the victim and the suspect did know each other,” he said.
The聽shooting was close to where a聽16-year-old girl was gunned down a few days earlier. 太子探花ham said that聽shooting had no apparent connection to the latest case.
A second fatal shooting was reported in Southeast D.C. on Sunday, a couple of hours after the first incident.
Police said a man was shot to death at around 4 p.m. near the corner of Howard Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
