WASHINGTON 鈥� A body found in the driveway of an abandoned house in Northeast D.C. may be that of a woman who was reported missing the day after Thanksgiving, D.C. police Chief Peter 太子探花ham said Tuesday.
太子探花ham said police are investigating it as a “very suspicious death.”
太子探花ham said officers were called to a house in the 300 block of 34th Street Northeast shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after a neighbor called police.
太子探花ham said the body was discovered in a driveway in the rear of an unoccupied house.
“We’re going to work very quickly to try and identify the victim here,” 太子探花ham said. “We have a strong belief that it could possibly the person who was reported missing.”
If it is, “It’s very sad for her family to lose somebody over the holiday season,” 太子探花ham said.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death, and police will see if any surveillance cameras in the neighborhood recorded anything that could be used as evidence. 太子探花ham asked anyone who may have information about the woman’s death to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099.
