WASHINGTON 鈥� A man died after being struck by a car while he was crossing Leesburg Pike in the Baileys Crossroads area of Fairfax County on Wednesday night.
Fairfax County police say Abdullah K. Sheikh, 36, was struck about 10:15 p.m. in front of the Crossroads Shopping Center by a Toyota Corolla driven by a 30-year-old Columbia, Maryland, woman. They haven鈥檛 released her name.
Police are still investigating, but they say Sheikh wasn鈥檛 in a crosswalk and wasn鈥檛 wearing reflective clothes, and that speed and alcohol probably weren’t factors.
