Frederick police say 27-year-old Dean Alan Stone, Jr. was arrested after an investigation uncovered that Stone not only robbed the Frederick City聽home on Jan. 24, but they also believe he had hit the same home four days earlier on Jan. 20.

A police investigator was able to聽track down a laptop that had been stolen from the聽home,聽and聽learned that it had been pawned.聽The information聽led to the聽suspect’s arrest.

Lt. Clark Pennington with Frederick Police says聽the investigation revealed additional聽items the resident had reported stolen on Jan. 24 were pawned at an earlier date.

Pennington says聽they were聽able to pull聽together the pieces of evidence to determine Stone hit the home twice.

“Based on the dates and records of when things were pawned, we know that the owner used the laptop later on聽in聽the week from when the first pawn item had been taken,” Pennington says.

He says that Stone聽was familiar with the home and the woman聽who lives there.

“So he knew聽where the items were and where he needed to go聽get them,” Pennington says.

Stone is facing the following charges:

  • 2 counts of burglary (1st degree)
  • 2 counts of burglary (3rd degree)
  • 4 counts of burglary (4th degree)
  • 3 counts of theft less than $1000
