Study: Unfulfilled workers depend on weekend for emotional boost

What you should know about the 'weekend effect' (Paula Wolfson)

WASHINGTON — Researchers have verified what a lot of us figured out a long time ago.

Workers聽who hate their jobs get a much bigger boost from their weekends than those who聽enjoy their work.

A study from the shows聽people who are lucky enough to have a trusting workplace and a supportive boss, are just as happy on weekdays as on their days off.

The researchers crunched data from four years of 聽surveys involving 1.77 million people.

Participants were asked to describe their emotions on various days of the week.

While most of us feel less stress and聽more enjoyment聽on the weekends, the researchers say for those who are fulfilled at work, there’s no need for an emotional boost.
