WASHINGTON 鈥 Loudoun County is joining , Stafford and Prince William counties in closing schools for the Virginia primary on March 1.
Loudoun County Public Schools made the announcement Tuesday, saying it was 鈥渢o accommodate an anticipated higher-than-usual turnout for the Presidential Primary Election.鈥
According to a from the school system, the School Board made the decision 鈥渁fter receiving new recommendations from the Loudoun County Sheriff鈥檚 Office and the Loudoun County Office of Elections.鈥
Administrative offices will remain open on March 1, and it will be a teacher work day.
