WASHINGTON 鈥斅燤aryland voters: Your聽chance to cast your聽ballot is coming up faster than you may think.
While the primary is set for April 26, early voting begins April 14 and runs through April 21.
If you need to register for the first time, or you鈥檙e thinking about changing your party affiliation, you鈥檒l have until Tuesday聽聽to get that done.
There鈥檚 also a new way to vote. Maryland has dumped its touch screens. Instead, you鈥檒l be casting a paper ballot. The change is the result of 2007 legislation calling for ballots that could provide a paper trail.
Elections officials say that while it鈥檚 great that you鈥檙e psyched about voting for the candidate of your choice, you can’t take selfies in the voting booth or in the room where the voting’s taking place.
Maryland has an administrative regulation on the books barring cameras from the polling place. Similar laws and policies are in place in a number of states, including Virginia and the District of Columbia.
