WASHINGTON 鈥斅燗 group of young women found themselves the talk of the internet last week, after a video showing them hanging out, taking selfies, and ignoring the on-field action at a baseball game, went viral.

Even the announcers at the game between the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks mocked the group mercilessly. But now the young women, all聽members of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at聽Arizona State University, are having the last laugh.

After they got such a ribbing at the game, the Diamondbacks and Fox Sports apparently offered the women free tickets.聽But the sorority sisters turned them down, choosing instead to use their selfie fame for a selfless cause.

The girls asked that future tickets be donated to families that helps support victims of domestic violence.

October is , and in a on its Facebook page, the sorority appealed for donations to the non-profit, saying, 鈥淲e are happy to have the opportunity to shed some positive light on such a sensitive subject. All proceeds will go directly to A New Leaf to help struggling Arizona families get back on their feet by providing housing, food, childcare and more.鈥
