Due to mechanical issue, Melania Trump’s plane returns to Joint Base Andrews

WASHINGTON — First lady Melania Trump’s plane had to turn around shortly after taking off from Joint Base Andrews due to a “mechanical issue” and smoke on board the plane, reports ABC Ì«×Ó̽»¨.

A reporter traveling with Trump said there was a thin haze of smoke and the smell of something burning on board.

Passengers were given wet towels to cover their faces in case the smoke became too strong.

The first lady was on her way to Philadelphia to meet with families of children who were affected by exposure to opioids while in the womb.
