Baltimore mayor congratulates Ravens, urges fans to celebrate responsibly

WASHINGTON – The Baltimore Ravens have won the Super Bowl, and the mayor of Baltimore was quick to offer her praise.

In a statement from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, she said that the team had demonstrated “strength, poise and perseverence” in their Super Bowl XLVII win.

“I want to congratulate Steve Bisciotti, Ozzie Ì«×Ó̽»¨ome, Coach John Harbaugh and the players for bringing another Lombardi Trophy to our great city,” the statement read.

Rawlings-Blake also took the opportunity, alone with Police Commissioner Anthony Batts, to encourage fans to celebrate responsibly.

She said additional police are on patrol in the area. A city celebration is being planned for next week.
