Washington Nationals swept the doubleheader against the Phillies with a 6-5 victory Tuesday night, and clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2017.
The Nationals win, coupled with the Chicago Cubs’ 9-2 loss in Pittsburgh, secured their spot in the聽 playoffs for the fifth time in eight years, and for the first time as a Wild Card team.
