Greg Hardy tweets regret after domestic violence photos released

WASHINGTON — Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy took to Twitter to express his regret for beating up his聽ex-girlfriend following the聽release of the graphic photos Friday.

One day after photos surfaced of Hardy’s聽former girlfriend Nicole Holder’s bruised body on Deadspin,聽he聽tweeted the following:

Hardy was convicted on charges of domestic violence聽in 2014 for attacking and threatening Holder, according to , but the charges were expunged聽last week.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell聽initially suspended Hardy for 10 games of the 2015 season, but the聽NFL Players Association reduced his suspension to four games.

In an interview with WTOP, USA Today columnist 聽said Hardy playing in the NFL sends a聽terrible message to everyone, especially women and children.

“It was that bad. Throwing her on a futon with four semi-automatic rifles as well as three or four other guns, choking her saying he wanted to kill her, the bruises now we see, the welts, it’s horrible,” Brennan said.

“We now see the pictures but we heard about this over a year ago and the words were enough,”聽Brennan said.聽“This man is a monster.”

Hardy, alongside the Cowboys, will be playing against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
