Grenade taken to Prince George’s Co. police was replica, not live

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County fire officials have determined that a suspected grenade brought into a county police station Monday night was actually an “inert non-hazardous replica.”

A man turned in the grenade to Prince George’s County police at their Palmer Park, Maryland, station Monday night, . He had found the replica while picking up garbage on Marblewood Avenue in Capitol Heights, .

, the possible explosive was taken to the parking lot and a bomb squad was called in. The device was safely removed but technicians determined that it was not live.
