Another unsettled summer evening is ahead across the D.C. region, with warm temperatures, slightly lower humidity than Monday, and scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.
7太子探花 First Alert Meteorologist Steve Rudin said the D.C. region remains under a Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk, with storm coverage and timing remaining somewhat uncertain.
He said any stronger storms could produce damaging wind gusts along with pockets of heavy rain and isolated flash flooding.
“The greatest severe weather threat will remain south and west of the I-95 corridor, with a ‘slight’ risk, level 2 out of 5, across the Shenandoah Valley, eastern West Virginia and far western Maryland,” Rudin said.
In the District, Mayor Muriel Bowser has activated .
Showers and thunderstorms may linger into the evening before gradually diminishing overnight. Localized flooding is possible where storms repeatedly move over the same areas.

Monday’s high winds knocked down trees, damaged homes and knocked out power for thousands across the D.C. region.聽In Gaithersburg, Maryland, high winds caused scaffolding to become loose, and two construction workers were blown around in the storm while they were suspended about nine stories, Montgomery County Fire and EMS said.
Update:9701 Fields Rd- evaluated the two construction workers. They declined transport and were not injured but shaken up after flying around 9 stories on a unsecured scaffolding. The scaffolding is now secured and has left the scene in care of building management.

The workers escaped by breaking into an apartment window and were not injured, but were 鈥渟haken up,鈥� the department said.
an active pattern for afternoon and evening storms is expected for the next several days, with highs in the 80s to low 90s, damaging wind gusts and instances of flash flooding possible.
By Friday, a slow-moving cold front may bring slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity, though storm chances are expected to continue.

Hotter again with partly sunny skies and continued high humidity. Thursday may be the hottest day of the stretch as temperatures climb to around 90. Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible during the afternoon and evening, although the severe weather threat continues to trend lower. Heat index values could reach the middle to upper 90s.

A cold front slowly works south through the region, keeping a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. Temperatures begin to ease back with highs mainly in the middle 80s. The severe weather threat appears relatively low, and a gradual drop in humidity should begin behind the front. A more noticeable cool down and better chance of drying out arrives heading into the weekend.
