WASHINGTON 鈥斅燭he Frederick County Fire Department says a search for a swimmer at Lake Linganore has turned into a recovery operation.
Battalion Chief Kevin Fox says an 18-year-old man was swimming near Nightingale Beach at about 4 p.m. Friday when he appeared to struggle, and then slipped underwater.
Five boats were involved in the search and rescue operation at the lake, just outside of New Market, Maryland.
